3 Reasons why FreedomVoice Cloud PBX Customers Switch to net2phone

Your business communications can’t be left up to chance. While we can’t predict the future, we can take caution when warning signs present themselves. There are plenty when it comes to considering FreedomVoice Cloud PBX.

Here are 3 reasons why you should make the switch to net2phone now.

No more new Cloud PBX Customers

As of March 1, 2021, FreedomVoice discontinued new sales of their Cloud PBX. Let's be clear, the Cloud PBX solution is not being discontinued. They just won't be taking on new customers. Existing customers can still add lines and phones if needed, get replacements, and seek technical support. GoDaddy (FreedomVoice’s parent company) did the research and found little uptake of desk phones. People working from home are either taking their phones home or working off their cell phones. FreedomVoice also doesn’t plan to release new features or updates.

We at net2phone on the other hand,  continue to offer state-of-the-art Cloud PBX services that provide you with everything you need to run your business communications successfully at scale. We are more than just desk phones. Our Cloud PBX solution is a VoIP solution. Users can have calls forwarded to their mobile or take and send calls from their laptops. Plus, we have a long history and there are no red flags to indicate otherwise.

Reliability is also something you’re really going to have to think about. Halting new features isn’t a good sign. How else will you stay agile to your business communication needs if your provider doesn’t provide updates? net2phone updates features all the time to ensure our customers have those smarter conversations and grow.

    Cloud PBX Features

Where disparity is really evident is comparing Cloud PBX features.

    • Mobile App: Our is proprietary and has all our features. The FreedomVoice mobile app is only compatible with X-Lite and Bria (with an associated cost). Those who have switched from FreedomVoice say the user experience is lacking and has basic functionality.
    • Advanced SMS/MMS: FreedomVoice doesn’t offer MMS and SMS is limited and a 3rd party app is required. You can’t delete messages and only have a text threat for the entire company which is code for a privacy nightmare in waiting.
    • Feature Availability: Our features are included based on the plan you choose whereas FreedomVoice charges for call recording, voicemail transcription, and CallerID
    • Fax: The FreedomVoice, from what customers who have made the switch tell us, doesn’t always work, and a confirmation message isn’t provided. Also, connecting to an ATA is not supported. We have several faxing options including virtual fax, physical fax, and encrypted fax. No complaints from our customers either.
    • Lack of a Busy Lamp Field (BLF): FreedomVoice does not offer the Busy Lamp Field feature that allows somebody to see if somebody else in the organization is available for a phone call. This feature is useful for many large organizations where secretaries and receptionists need to know if other staffers are on the line before transferring calls. There are no indications that FreedomVoice will make this feature available to customers anytime soon. However, net2phone offers BLF as a standard service.
    • International Calling: If you’re growing and you do business outside of the US, good luck with making those calls with FreedomVoice. Meanwhile, net2phone offers free International calling to over 40 countries.
    • On-hold Music: It doesn’t sound like a big deal, but custom on-hold music is better than dead air and lets callers know you’re still on the line trying to help them in the midst of waiting in queue or a transfer. While we offer that, FreedomVoice does not.

    Business Communications Reliability

In the past, FreedomVoice has suffered outages that have made customers ditch them for other VoIP providers like net2phone. We provide 99% uptime. The outages seriously affected white label resellers selling FreedomVoice solutions as an additional line of revenue. During downtime, resellers had to contend with hundreds of support tickets and phones ringing off the hooks. Support is limited too. Our support is 24/7, US-based.

That’s a lot of information to think about and process. If you have any questions, contact us, and if you’re ready to make the switch, ask us about our latest promotion.
