| The CableLinesm Solution
CableLine is a fully managed PacketCable-based network solution that resembles traditional telephony in terms of service, quality, enhanced features, functionality and reliability. Calls are processed and delivered through the most efficient, cost effective and high quality routes without using the public Internet. CableLine is a locally hosted solution designed to leverage existing cable plant and resides within the cable network. CableLine is engineered to conform to the PacketCable standards set by CableLabs®.
CableLine’s network management toolset enables fully managed end-to-end VoIP cable telephony service. Throughout each point in the network -- the local cable HFC network, the IXC segment and the local termination -- CableLine delivers end-to-end guaranteed call quality, network availability and service management.
The CableLinesm solution is comprised of three components:
- Planning and Deployment Services
- Switching and Service Assurance Platform
- Telecommunications Administration
Planning and Deployment Services
Net2Phone customizes the CableLine service offering for each operator to:
- Leverage the operator’s current systems and processes
- Design an optimal VoIP architecture
- Project traffic volume and capacity requirements
- Develop and document business processes
- Provide training and support during launch and ongoing.
Switching and Service Assurance Platform
The Switching and Service Assurance Platform provides the infrastructure required to support CableLine VoIP cable telephony and consists of the following four elements:
Call Management Server Platform -- allows calls to be processed and delivered through the most efficient, cost effective and high quality route. Also provides CLASS 5 feature support (e.g., caller ID, call waiting, distinctive ring and 3-way calling), interfaces to the PSTN for termination and origination and provides network generated announcements.
Record Keeping Server -- a real-time event messaging, collection, correlation and distribution database. It stores all usage information required for customer support, billing, back-office and management functions.
Real-time Service Assurance Platform -- continually monitors the call management server platform and VoIP components. Also places test calls across entry and exit points to calculate call quality and network availability.
Cable Voice Operations Support System (CVOSS) -- provides Net2Phone and operators with a web-based, real-time view into the telephony network. It is a sophisticated, fully automated, end-to-end network and service management suite that incorporates monitoring, diagnosis, and troubleshooting tools. Additionally, CVOSS provides management reports and data mining capabilities.
Telecommunications Administration
Depending on an operator’s needs, Net2Phone will order, provide and administer
circuits for each phone line, and establish agreements with
local, long distance and International telecommunications
providers to terminate calls. Net2Phone also acquires and
manages a database of telephone numbers to assign to telephony
subscribers. Telephone numbers can be local to the operator’s
footprint or nationwide. E911 service, Local Number Portability,
Operator and Directory Services are also available.
